Karen Rodriguez'G
Karen serves as Program Coordinator for EUI and is a doctoral candidate in the Department of History. She is currently finishing her dissertation, entitled "Civilizing Nature, Cultivating Identity: Colonial Landscapes and the Construction of the Imperial Self 1860-1931," which considers the relationship between the construction of an imperial identity and struggles over landscape (both material and ideological) in colonial Calcutta, London and New Delhi. Her other research interests include emergent technologies and the practice of history, the colonial city, urban planning and national/imperial politics, science/technology/medicine and empire.
